Game 3: French Kiss – KCC Dragons

The Coach's picture

Rudi Stalmans - Trainer of the French Kiss Football team in Hong Kong

The problem? Lack of confidence, lack of grid, ever changing team, the
pitch too big, the ball too round, and of course the referee, the
easiest one to blame.

End result: French Kiss 0 – KCC Dragons 2

The team: Simon in goal, Ken and Adrien in central defense, Simone on the right and Dick on the left. In central midfield, Angel and Henrique, with Lewis on the right and captain Paolo on the left, in attack last week’s Jackal  and Thomas. On the side, Nico, Mauro, Milan, Edo and emergency callus Kurt and Stefan.

Before the game, the warm up was adapted, the coach begged, cursed and threatened with the red pepper treatment, in order to get a good start. After 20 seconds, KCC Dragons came already close and less than 5 minutes in the game, French Kiss went down 1-0. The rest of the first half, the team was looking for itself, looking for the ball, and giving away chance after chance, no surprise we were 2-0 down at half time, and, virtually, if continuing play like that, game over.

Second half? Changes were made, replacements came in, but nothing really changed. The coach had the feeling we could have played for 2 hours more without scoring. The problem? Lack of confidence, lack of grid, ever changing team, the pitch too big, the ball too round, and of course the referee, the easiest one to blame.  So we lost, and we deserved it. Let’s hope for better French Kiss times next week.

Next game: HKDC Squadron, on Sunday October 19th, 3:30 p.m., at KGV. Not to miss !!
