French Kiss – White Youth

After a great preparation, thank you Seb, Rudi and Jurian, and some interesting friendlies, we were convinced French Kiss was ready to have some fun in first division. In our first game back in division one, we played White Youth, the last team we played 2 years ago. They still remembered, as the referees still remembered our last year’s final game, and especially Superman.
End result: French Kiss – White Youth: 4 - 0
The team:
Fabio in goal, Angel, back to life after a short spell in Spain, and Adrien in central defense, Captain Miguel on the right back, Simone on the left.Midfield we had Jurian and Ming in the center, Paolo on the left and Julien as a right midfielder. In attack, Lewis as the whirlwind runner, Henrique as the target man.On the side, Etienne, Jackal, Ken, Nacho and Cees, who all had an important role to play as the first 80 minutes battle went on.
French Kiss started the game as asked, in attacking mood, surprising the more experienced but rather laid back White Youth. With a little help from the wind, we nailed them on their half. A number of chances went flying in, but some good work from their keeper, and some sloppy finishing from our side, denied us a goal. White Youth was dangerous on the counter attack, but Fabio was there when needed. At he end of the first half, a great first goal from Lewis and a thundering header on corner from Henrique gave French Kiss a 2-0 lead, while a third goal from Julien was denied by the referee, although it seemed to have crossed the goal line.
Second half, wind against us and rain pouring harder and harder. We expected a fight back from White Youth, but it just did not come. Their coach claimed they missed some players, and we believe him, but most of the credit goes to French Kiss, and typhoon Francisco as well. With the ball on the ground, and some very nice moves, French Kiss just did not allow them to put pressure. Much to the relief of those on the side, we did close the game down with a screamer form Ming, with some help from Francisco I guess, and a great finish from Jackal, who keeps scoring one goal a piece. The referee denied him a second, and Jackal himself did not seem to want it either. He saves the next goal for the next game.
In the end, a happy coach, happy supporters, a happy bartender in Kong’s park. The only negative point, 3 yellow cards, are something to give some attention next time. Still, 3 points in the bag, and French Kiss unmistakably on top of first division. Look at the website, save the image, as it is a first timer.
I hope to see you all in numbers on training, and next game, Sunday September 30th, playing KCC Dragon’s in King’s Park, 7h30 PM. As most of you already know, Ken’s wallet got undesired attention, and so did mine. Let’s be a little more carefull next time, and don’t give those bastards the chance to pull this trick again
