French Kiss - KCC Dragons

With French Kiss on top of the league, and Philippe Bouquet leading the goalscorerslist, we probably surprised everybody, including the coach. With the Mid-Autumn festival and the National Day holiday close to each other, half of the team was having holidays outside Hong Kong. We still managed to have a great team, and play a good game.
End result: French Kiss – KCC Dragons: 1 - 2
The team:
Fabio and Cees in central defense, Captain Miguel on the right back, Adrien on the left.
Midfield we had Simone and Ming in the center, Paolo on the left and Ken on the right
In attack, Jackal, chasing last week’s goal and Henrique as the target man
On the side, Nacho, Maarten, Lewis and guest player Thijs, in case of emergency, as the coach was not able to serve for emergencies, due to an emergency the day before
With the wind in the back, and bursting with energy, French Kiss started attacking like crazy. We surprised KCC Dragons, who did not play their very skillfull passing game, as we did not let them to. After 20 minutes, Jackal surprised their defense, and was brought down by the keeper. We got the penalty we deserved, but their keeper did a great job in stopping Fabio’s effort. We kept going, and when Ming lashed a superb shot against the crossbar, both Ken and Jackal were there to finish it of. 1-0 for French Kiss at half time, with another Jackal goal, given to him as a compensation for last week. We did well in the first half, but it was clear that they were very dangerous, especially on freekicks and cornerkicks, a weak point in French Kiss history.
Second half, KCC Dragons was able to play their game, and they are good at it. They proved a very experienced and skillfull team, and scored twice. The first one, another free header on in the box. The second, rather luckily, with a ball headed out and than shot between a number of defending legs.
We tried hard to find an equalizer, playing with 3 strikers in the end, but it was not to be our day. We lost the point we maybe deserved. With a little more selfdiscipline and teamdiscipline, we could have kept our point. With a little bit of luck added, it could even have been better.
Still, as not everything was perfect after last week’s win, not everything was bad after this week’s loss. We proved once more we have a good team who can scare any team in the league, and we will keep proving it. A positive attitude towards each other, and more focus on fun rather than result, will help French Kiss further.
Next game, Club Wanderers, on Sunday October 7th, 3 PM, in Hong Kong Football Club. NO FREE HEADERS
