Club Wanderers - French Kiss

Draws are boring. Not.
Game 14: French Kiss - Club Wanderers 4 - 4
The sweet memory of Paolo's last minute goal were still wandering around, when French Kiss was taking on Club Wanderers on sunday. After that defeat, they made a good run that brought them to third place in the league. We are just a little bit lower in the ranking. As we are still considered the best team in the league, mainly by me actually, this was to be another interesting encounter.
We started with Simon in goal, back from injury after nearly 2 months, caused by nothing at all, if we have to believe the referee at the Antonhill game. In central defense, Adrien and Fabio, flanked by Miguel and Dick. In midfield, from left to right, we had Paolo, Angel, Etienne and Henry, in attack Mauro and Jackal. On the side, we had Rudi, Nacho and Evan, and we welcome Vojta for his first game.
The game started at an incredible pace, and goalscoring chances were created at both sides. Club Wanderers were the first to convert them, leading 2-0 after 25 minutes. Their right midfielder was causing a lot of problems, guys that fast are not often to be seen on Yauyeeleague games. Then, with the arrival of our best supporter Paula, French Kiss luck turned to the better. On a well taken Angel corner, Etienne had a great header and we pulled one back. Still, that was not the end of the goal scoaring spree, and at half time, despite a good performance, French Kiss was 3-1 down. The coach changed tactics, and we started the second half in a 4-3-3 formation, with Rudi coming in for Dick. We played with Fabio and Etienne in central defense, Adrien and Miguel on the side, our 3 midfielders Rudi, Angel and Paolo, and 3 attackers, with Henry joining Mauro and Jackal.
The new formation worked, and French Kiss was attacking hard. We got the chances, but did not finish. The midfielders were working their socks of,and the defenders did a great job on the very sharp Wanderers counters. Nacho replaced Henry, who was down with cramps, after a great display back from injury. Vojta replaced Paolo, and managed to score with his very first touch, what a debut in the league. Wanderers hit back immediately, and with 15 minutes to go, we were 4-2 down. Never give up, was the motto, and we pulled one back with a great free kick from Mauro. The coach decided to add some more attacking power. We switched to a 3-3-4 formation, with Evan replacing Adrien. And it worked by all means. Defense really did well in stopping the counters, midfield kept pushing, and the attackers did as asked, the scored. Evan scored after a Mauro solo, and we were level 4 - 4. We came even close to winning the game, but the energy levels were not sufficient to pull that through.
After a wonderfull game, played in great spirit by both teams, a fair result was on the table. Good refereeing, and a good team spirit, landed us on a game that both teams enjoyed, not one bad foul, no cards on our side. Let's continue like this after the break. Kong Hei Fat Choi
